1. The CEFS will collaborate with Africa Research & Innovation Institutions, including African Universities, global research bodies, and other international research partners on food system, policy, and capacity development, and climate change adaptation.
2. The Center establishes and promotes research areas on climate adaptation, climate financing, food system, livelihood systems, and resilience building through collaboration and working with stakeholders, and bringing together global food systems experts.
3. The Centre explores available food systems and climate adaptation data and envisages how to utilize it to inform decisions, build resilience and transform climate adaptation and agriculture production systems.
4. The Centre conducts research studies, assessments, and surveys on food system, climate change, and adaptation, and focuses on all productive sectors.
